Forgot your Windows password or PIN and can't get into your computer?
Houston Tech Guys provides professional Windows password recovery and computer lockout assistance in Houston, TX, for homeowners and businesses that own or are authorized to access the computer.
Depending on how your Windows PC is configured, we may be able to restore access to a local Windows account without reinstalling Windows or deleting your personal files.
Whether you're locked out of a Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, custom-built desktop, or another Windows computer, our technicians can diagnose the system and determine the safest recovery option.

Forgot Your Windows Password? You May Not Need to Reset the Computer
Being locked out of Windows doesn't necessarily mean your computer needs to be erased or Windows needs to be reinstalled.
For eligible computers using a local Windows account, Houston Tech Guys may be able to perform professional Windows account recovery while preserving the existing Windows installation and files.
We can assist with situations including:
Forgotten Windows local account passwords
Windows login problems
Forgotten Windows PINs
Local administrator account lockouts
Computers that no longer accept the expected login credentials
Windows PCs where important files need to be preserved
SSD or NVMe drives that aren't initially visible to standard recovery environments
Intel RST, Intel VMD, RAID, and storage-controller driver issues
BitLocker recovery assistance when the customer has the required recovery key
Our first priority is determining why you're locked out and whether access can be safely restored without unnecessary data loss.
Windows Password Recovery Without Reinstalling Windows
One of the biggest concerns customers have when they're locked out is:
“Am I going to lose everything on my computer?”
Not necessarily.
When the computer uses an eligible local Windows account and the Windows drive is accessible, it may be possible to restore account access without formatting the computer or performing a clean Windows installation.
That means your existing documents, pictures, applications, and Windows installation may be preserved.
Every computer is different, however, so we inspect the system before determining which recovery method is appropriate.
What If the SSD Doesn't Show Up?
This is becoming increasingly common on newer Windows laptops and desktops.
A computer may have a perfectly functional NVMe SSD, but a standard Windows recovery environment doesn't initially detect it.
That doesn't automatically mean the SSD has failed.
Many modern computers use storage-controller technologies such as:
Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST), Intel Volume Management Device (VMD), Intel RAID, or AMD RAID.
Houston Tech Guys maintains specialized storage-controller drivers and diagnostic environments for servicing these systems.
This can allow our technicians to properly detect supported storage devices without unnecessarily changing critical BIOS storage settings that could prevent Windows from booting normally.
What If the Computer Has BitLocker?
BitLocker changes the situation significantly.
Windows password recovery and BitLocker encryption are two different things.
A Windows login password protects access to a Windows account.
BitLocker protects the data stored on the drive through encryption.
If your Windows drive is BitLocker-encrypted and currently locked, simply resetting a Windows account password does not decrypt the drive.
The appropriate BitLocker recovery key may be required before the encrypted Windows installation can be accessed.
If you don't know where your BitLocker recovery key is located, Houston Tech Guys can help you determine where it may have been legitimately backed up, such as a Microsoft account or an organization's managed Microsoft environment.
We do not bypass or defeat BitLocker encryption.
Local Windows Account vs. Microsoft Account
Not every Windows login works the same way.
Some computers use a traditional local Windows account, while others sign into Windows using a Microsoft account.
Microsoft-account passwords are tied to Microsoft's online account system and generally require the appropriate Microsoft account recovery and identity-verification process.
Houston Tech Guys can diagnose how the computer is configured and determine the appropriate recovery path.
Windows Password Recovery for Houston Businesses
Computer lockouts don't only happen at home.
Employees leave companies. Old computers get pulled out of storage. Credentials get lost. A business may inherit a computer without knowing the previous local administrator password.
Houston Tech Guys provides business Windows support in Houston and can assist authorized organizations with evaluating locked Windows PCs while helping preserve important company data whenever possible.
We can also help businesses address the underlying problem afterward by reviewing administrator access, Microsoft 365 accounts, backup administrators, security, device management, and recovery procedures.
Proof of Ownership or Authorization Is Required
Houston Tech Guys provides password and account recovery services only for computers the customer owns or is authorized to access.
We will not provide password-removal or account-access services for stolen computers, unauthorized systems, or devices where legitimate ownership or authorization cannot be established.
This protects our customers, their information, and their businesses.
Don't Wipe Your Computer Before Having It Checked
If you're locked out of Windows and have important information on the computer, don't immediately perform a factory reset.
A factory reset or clean Windows installation can potentially remove applications, settings and personal data.
Instead, have the computer evaluated first.
There may be a better recovery option.
